Elio's father Giovanni didn't understand him. His son's radical decisions were too far from his way of thinking. Being from an older generation and poorer times, he was not able to accept what he thought was an offense against common sense and tradition, and because of their different opinions, Giovanni and Elio’s relationship fell into silence.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\"He died in 1985 and tragically disinherited Elio.  Elio continued to work while he bought back the winery and vineyards from his siblings. Elio stood firm then and still does today. Maybe I was inspired by planting so many flowers in the garden with my fiancée, but the theme of this set of wines turned out, to my palate, to be a story of gorgeous flowery aromas unfurling in the glass!\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis northern Italian stunner kicks off June’s liquid floristry. I’ve always loved Arneis, but this wine was an absolute shock of goodness—stunning aromas leaping out of the glass, while being super lush and multidimensional on the palate. The wine is absolutely brimming with flowering  peaches, golden apples, jasmine notes of honeycomb and just touches of nutmeg spice. The palate is rounded and super smooth, just great on its own but recipes from the region also come to mind - saffron and zucchini Tajarin, butternut squash ravioli with sage garnish; chicken or light game in a butter citrus sauce.
