Rochioli Estate Pinot Noir 2016

$95.00 $57.99

Winemaker Notes:

“This Estate is a blend of our many different vineyard sites, seventeen percent Little Hill, thirty-three percent Sweetwater, twenty percent West Block, twelve percent Big Hill, twelve percent East Block and six percent River Block. This full bodied wine possesses the typical Rochioli character and the Classic Russian River Valley charm. Aged in French oak for 15 months, the wine displays a full body and silky texture finish, with a balanced structure. Elegant and beautifully balanced, the aromas of ripe cherry, hints of vanilla and savory herbs, while the palate is juicy and refined with a hint of dusty cherry. The wine has a big rich mouth-feel, silky tannins and a long finish.”

Critical Acclaim:

“95 points.

“From six blocks of the storied estate, this stunning wine is made cuvée-like, blending the best of the best. Rich and full bodied yet mindful of graceful complexity, it features layers of lush, focused red fruit, clove and a touch of white pepper. This is a beautiful showcase of the appellation and the diverse, historic site.” – Wine Enthusiast

“94 points.

“Tom Rochioli is the third generation of this family to grow grapes on their farm, the vineyards rising up the west bank of the Russian River. He started bottling his own wine in 1985, and later developed a focus on single-parcel pinot noir. His estate blend is a fragrant, red-fruited pinot in 2016, a clean, gracious wine that seems to greet you with open arms. Oak plays a supporting role to the fruit that drives through the wine, lasting with fresh, floral, wild-berry flavors. Delicious.” – Wine and Spirits
