Beringer Founder’s Estate Pinot Grigio 2016
Hey, the Fourth of July is right around the corner, and we know what you’ll be doing – partying. And partying with a lot of people!
This year, wouldn’t it be nice to get them inebriated to the point of benevolent conviviality without breaking into the beauties down in your cellar? A good old-fashioned homedrunk that suggests congeniality without unearthing any of the bones buried in the yard? A wine you can actually all share that doesn’t vaporize your bank balance or constitution?
That’s what this wine is all about.
Is it the best wine I’ve ever had in my life? No.
Is it an utterly stunning example of Pinot Grigio? No.
Is it going to fit with the BBQ, go great as a cocktail, or be an amazing third wine of the night among good friends? Absolutely.
Here it is – Beringer’s Founders’ Estate Pinot Grigio.
I enjoy drinking this wine – it’s got loads of tropical fruit character, pineapple, passion fruit, orange and lime, while also maintaining a soft and generous palate. It’s crisp and refreshing, but it isn’t vapid or hollow. There’s a delicious level of melons, peaches and juicy ripeness. Perfect as early afternoon cocktail with serrano ham or a delicious wine for dinner, pairing with everything from grilled fish to Memphis-style BBQ. No matter what your plans on the Forth, this wine is sure to create some fireworks of its own!
