“God made Cabernet Sauvignon, whereas the Devil made Pinot Noir.” – Andre Telecheif
The most regal grape in the world: Cabernet. We will begin in the grape’s ancestral homeland, which arguably yields its greatest expression: Bordeaux. We will also showcase the blue-blood royalties of Napa Valley, the earthy powers of Sonoma and the celestial treasures of Italy’s Super Tuscans. And our discussion wouldn’t be complete without noteworthy luminaries from Washington State, Australia’s Margaret River, Chile and Argentina.
Nor can we leave well enough alone – Cabernet has two parent grapes, and a family of grapes that surrounds it, creating incredible blends. The parents: Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Franc (hence Cabernet Sauvignon). The family: add Merlot, Petite Verdot and Malbec. For as much as we can squeeze into this tasting, we will give you the full Cabernet experience—worldwide, and through and through.
We will also use this tasting to explore the production of wine from vineyard to bottle, the question of why wine is priced the ways its, and the age worthiness of wine and why some people choose to develop cellars.
Wines TBA.
All prices listed shown are regular retail. Significant discounts offered on all wines at the tasting.
Due to the their highly allocated nature, some wines may change without notice.
