This tasting explores the fascinating world of Pinot Noir through the lens of California. We will study the major terroirs of California Pinot: Russian River, Carneros, Santa Lucia Highlands and Santa Rita Hills, as well as specific vineyard sites that we believe to be Grand Cru material.
And we will push on into California’s “new style” of Pinot – wines of low alcohol, bright acidity and ethereal grace. Are these new-style Pinots blurring the boundaries of California’s and Burgundy’s best? At this tasting, we aim to find out.
