For many years, wine connoisseurs have thought of South America as a great place to find bargains – wines that are inexpensive, yet quaffable, and are immediately identifiable in their varietal character.  And while that is true across much of South America’s production (and numerous other countries), this notion doesn’t capture the highs, nor the soul, of what is currently being produced there.

In both Chile and Argentina, vintners are striking out in new directions, exploring every facet of quality that they can – high-altitude Malbec, indigenous Pais grapes, new fermentation methods, different grape varieties in whites and reds, and pushing for the absolute best of the best.

At this tasting we take a look at this “New World” wine producer made new yet again.
