Chateauneuf du Pape Versus The World

Chateauneuf du Pape is the crown jewel of the Rhone Valley, and the top producers there are wine royalty. These Grenache-based blends have inspired winemakers all over the world to take their own shot at wine immortality. 

Yet while CdP is widely considered to be the pinnacle of quality in Rhone blends, There are scores of New World regions making lots of Rhone-style red blends. In Australia, Rhone blends - or not blends - have taken the world by storm for their powerfully expressive red wines. 

In this exclusive tasting we will put three of top Chateauneuf producers - Château de Beaucastel, Vieux Telegraphe, and Guigal - up against premier grenache producers across the globe.

We'll taste Clos Mogador - the latest release from founding Priorat producer Rene Barbier as well as the Plexus blend from John Duval, the winemaker behind the rise of Penfolds Grange to world-wine acclaim. 

We'll also have some newer under-the-radar producers to introduce you to.
