Winery notes:
"37.2 Cuvée" is a Bordeaux-style blend crafted from select Napa Valley vineyards. The 2021 vintage comprises 63% Merlot and 37% Cabernet Franc, reflecting a Right Bank Bordeaux influence. The wine is aged in French oak barrels, enhancing its complexity and depth. This meticulous blending and aging process results in a wine that is both approachable in its youth and capable of graceful aging.
"Coup de Foudre, French for "love at first sight," is a boutique winery in Napa Valley known for crafting limited-production wines that capture the essence of the region’s most prestigious vineyards. Founded by John Schwartz, Coup de Foudre focuses on producing wines with exceptional quality and character, using grapes from some of Napa Valley’s finest sites. With a philosophy centered on meticulous vineyard management and traditional winemaking techniques, Coup de Foudre has earned a reputation for creating wines that are both powerful and elegant, reflecting the best of what Napa Valley has to offer."
Critical acclaim:
"94 points. Deep garnet-purple in color, it slowly emerges with a gorgeous perfume of kirsch, violets, and wild blueberries, opening out to a core of red currant jelly and kirsch plus a hint of pencil shavings. The medium to full-bodied palate is tightly wound with red and black berry layers, supported by grainy tannins and bold freshness, finishing on a minerally note." — Lisa Perrotti-Brown, Wine Independent, formerly editor in chief at Wine Advocate
"94 points. Full-bodied but agile in acidity and moderate tannins, packed with crisp red and black fruit. Red cherries, blueberries and zesty spearmint are shaped by 60% new barrels without adding a lot of oak spices. It’s subtle, fresh and linear. Drink or hold" - James Suckling
