Gobelsburg Cistercien Rose 2024

There’s a quiet, old-world clarity to this rosé that feels distinctly Gobelsburg. 

The wine opens on cool red fruit rather than sweetness: wild strawberry, sour cherry skin and a faint blush of red currant, edged with rosehip tea and a whisper of white pepper. Underneath, a stony, loess-and-limestone minerality keeps everything taut and grounded.

On the palate it’s brisk and finely drawn, with a savory snap that recalls pink grapefruit pith, crushed raspberry seeds and a light herbal note — something between tarragon and alpine grasses. Texture is silken but restrained, carried by clean acidity and a saline flicker that lingers into the finish. This is rosé as refreshment and restraint, built more for the table than the terrace, and all the more compelling for it.
