The Champagne house of Godmé was established in 1930 by Michèle and Bertrand Godmé. Sabine and her brother Hugues divided the 11-hectare estate into equal parts. Today Sabine Godmé and her husband Jean Marie Guillaume represent the 4th generation. All the viticulture here is sustainable and on average 30% of the primary fermentation is done in barrel. The estate is located in the heart of Montagne de Reims, specifically in the Grand Cru village of Verzenay. They also own vineyards in the Grand Cru village Beaumont-Sur-Vesle and Verzy as well as the Premier Cru villages of Villers-Marmery and Montbré. These are Champagnes that allow the nuance of the Grand Cru and Premier Cru terroir to really be the focus and are not over manipulated.
85% Pinot Noir (12% Coteaux Champenois Rouge), 15% Chardonnay; sourced from Grand Cru villages of Verzenay, Beaumont-sur-Vesle and Verzy; dosage 6gr/l ; 40% reserve wine; 3 years minimum ageing on the lees.
Tasting Notes: A Rose that’s not ashamed to be Rose. Bright red in color and packed with raspberry and earthy aromas and flavors. Beautifully rich and full in the mouth with chalky components appearing on the finish. 1000 BTL production.
Disgorging date: December 2018
Assemblage base year: 50% 2014 - 50% 2013-2012-2011
