Utterly charming, and without apology.
This is Ingrid Groiss turning Pinot Noir toward summer—what the Austrians would simply call sommerwein—and the result feels both effortless and exacting. The wine opens on a rush of fresh red fruit: wild strawberry, red cherry and a faint, candied floral note that reads like Angel’s Kiss. Nothing is forced. Everything feels freshly cut.
On the palate, the wine is brisk, clean and bone-dry, carried more by mineral clarity than by fruit weight. There’s a cool, stony precision here—something like cherry-scented mineral water—pure, refreshing and quietly addictive. The texture stays light on its feet, with just enough fruit to round the edges before the finish snaps back into citrus zest and a spritzy, saline lift that lingers with poise.
This is not a rosé built for spectacle. It’s built for drinking—early, often and with pleasure. As with all of Groiss’ wines, production is small and availability fleeting. Summer will not wait.
