Planet Oregon Sparkling Rosé 2023

We Americans don’t drink enough Champagne, even though every time you open Champagne, it creates a party and there is never any wine left over. So why not start every picnic party with a bottle of bubbles? Now this isn’t Champagne, but it is one of my favorite domestic sparklers. I think Tony Soter (the owner of Planet Oregon) is a master winemaker, and this one truly shows his skill—delivering a nose of berries and red flowers that moves to rich cherry fruit on the palate with a fresh, lingering finish. While the Planet Oregon name may sound a bit silly, 1% of its sales goes back to supporting environmental organizations in Oregon—something Tony is very serious about.
