Winery notes:

"Terroir, the French term for a sense of place that establishes a wine’s unique identity, is the perfect concept to describe the qualities of Spring Mountain Cabernet Sauvignons. Our Spring Mountain Cabernet displays the mountain’s special blue notes – blueberry, boysenberry and exotic plum fruits – that are so distinctive to Cabernets grown on its slopes. We are fortunate to obtain a tiny amount of this exquisite fruit to create a wine with great weight, structure and velvety texture.

"Since 2005 we have been lucky enough to receive fruit from Joan Crowley’s beautiful vineyard. It is perched at 2000′ elevation near the summit of Spring Mountain. This site is primarily dry-farmed, which reduces both vigor and crop yields, and results in small, flavor-packed berries.

"Beginning in 2015, we have had access to the very best block of the vineyard, and our 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 wines have displayed increased size and scope for what has traditionally been our most elegant Cabernet offering."
Critical acclaim:
"95 points. This is a very typical cabernet from Spring Mountain with lightly chewy tannins and lots of black fruit, such as black cherries and currants, as well as some hot stone and mint. It’s long and persistent, too. One for the cellar. Try after 2023." - James Suckling
