"From the top of the own-rooted vines in the oldest part of the Sanford & Benedict Vineyard, planted in 1971. This vineyard houses soils of Botella clay loam littered with chert and shale. These alluvial soils, commonly found on valley floors, lead to great drainage throughout the vineyard. We are fortunate to be one of a small amount or producers who have access to these old vines. "
