Think you know your palate? Think again.

Waterford's Karl Galko returns for an encore of one of our most popular seminars from last year.

Sometimes at our seminars there's a wine that stands out from the others - it doesn't quite fit into the expectations on a particular night.  Maybe it smells a little like a tire fire, or maybe an unconventional winemaking approach left it drinking more like a cocktail than a wine, or maybe it's just weird.  When we encounter one of these outliers, Karl will burst into our seminar room with a smile and a thumbs up. It's his kind of wine.

But Karl doesn't just embrace the weird, he also loves exploring grapes that don't get a lot of love - either unfairly maligned or just misunderstood.

This is a seminar designed to challenge expectations and open minds — a guided exploration through a lineup of wines that don’t always make it onto dinner tables, but absolutely deserve the spotlight.

These are bottles with character, history, and a little bit of rebellion in them. You might not recognize every label, but by the end of the night, you just might find a new favorite in the most unexpected places.

Wines to be tasted:

We could tell, but that would spoil the fun. Sign up to discover what Karl has planned!
