Join us for a special evening with Nadine Maruszczak, Babylonstoren’s U.S. Sales & Marketing Manager, as she takes us on a journey through one of South Africa’s most historic and captivating wine estates.
Founded in 1692 at the foot of the Simonsberg Mountains, Babylonstoren is one of the Cape’s oldest working farms. With a winemaking history dating back centuries, the estate today brings together vineyards, orchards, olive groves, gardens, food, hospitality and wine in one remarkable expression of South African agricultural heritage.
Under the vision of owners Karen Roos Bekker and Koos Bekker, Babylonstoren has been meticulously restored while remaining true to its roots. Its vineyards climb the slopes of the Simonsberg Mountains, with the highest blocks reaching approximately 600 meters above sea level. Organic and regenerative farming practices help guide the estate, reinforcing the connection between the land, the farm and the wines in the glass.
During the tasting, Nadine will introduce us to Babylonstoren’s distinctive approach to winemaking and share the stories behind a selection of wines, from vibrant Chenin Blanc and Mourvèdre Rosé to Chardonnay and the estate’s flagship Bordeaux-style blend, Nebukadnesar.
