From Vine to Wine: Project Genesys Vineyard Tour & Cool-Climate Wine Tasting

Join us for a special evening exploring grape growing right here in Lake Country!

We’ll meet at Project Genesys, where founder Zach will lead us on a guided tour of his organic Concord grape vineyard. Established in 2025, Project Genesys is a research vineyard dedicated to studying organic, OMRI-compliant growing practices and the resilient grape varieties that can thrive in Wisconsin’s challenging climate.

During the tour, Zach will share the story behind Project Genesys, explain how he cares for the vines without harsh agricultural chemicals, and discuss the process of planning and creating a vineyard. Whether you’re curious about growing a few vines or establishing a vineyard of your own, you’ll learn about site selection, choosing suitable grape varieties, and what it takes to get started. Zach will also share information about the vineyard development services he offers.

Following the tour, guests will travel to Waterford Wine & Spirits in Delafield for a guided tasting of six wines made from cool-climate grape varieties. We’ll explore how cooler growing conditions influence a wine’s acidity, aromatics and overall character while tasting a range of distinctive expressions.

Participants are responsible for their own transportation between locations.
