Event Details

Few winemakers have shaped the modern era of Napa Valley more profoundly than Heidi Peterson Barrett, widely regarded as the original cult winemaker and often referred to as the "First Lady of Wine." Barrett built an extraordinary career crafting iconic wines for Screaming Eagle, Dalla Valle, Grace Family, Paradigm, and numerous other legendary estates, earning multiple perfect 100-point scores and international acclaim for her ability to balance power, elegance, and a true sense of place.

In 2002, proprietor John Schwartz partnered with Barrett to create Amuse Bouche, inspired by the great Merlot-based wines of Bordeaux's Right Bank. Drawing from exceptional hillside vineyards in eastern Rutherford, Barrett fashioned a remarkably elegant and age-worthy Merlot blend that helped redefine the grape's potential in Napa Valley and established Amuse Bouche as one of California's most coveted cult wineries.

During this exclusive Study Hall presentation, Ashlee Hallengren will explore Barrett's remarkable legacy, the philosophy behind Amuse Bouche, and the meticulous craftsmanship that continues to make these wines among Napa Valley's most sought-after collectibles. This is a drop-in tasting, that allows you to come at any time, and taste at your own pace.
